Ah…..no.

It indicates that organic molecules were trapped in the Martian mud billions of years ago. Eventually, the little clay particles condensed and hardened to mudstone. This sedimentary rock contains organic chemical detected by the Curiosity Rover. See?

They already knew there were rocks on Mars.

The actual question is: did these organic molecules derive from living organisms or was there a non-biological mechanism for them to form?

Here's a good explanation of how Curiosity goes about this analysis, especially the determining and elimination of contaminants. However:

I suspect it's geological. I hope it's biological.
