My wife of 33 years says she is happy with how our anniversary preparations turned out last Friday and wanted to surprise me with something.

Not only did she have quite a spread to eat, but she served us both champagne (prosecco, really). I had no idea that champagne went so well with bacon!

I don't think I have ever enjoyed a breakfast more. Maybe we should have it every morning from now. :)

Dan
PS. I probably looked like this to her as she served us:

Congrats!

But, for the record, that's not the "you're doing what for me?" face. It's the "I didn't screw up our anniversary?" face.

Nope never had the bubbly for breakfast – nor do I hope
to…

But glad you two enjoyed it and happy anniversary !

Thanks!

Etotheipi: "It's the "I didn't screw up our anniversary?" face."

The hardest part was coordinating all the family arrivals, and then making sure that the cake didn't melt into a blob while it was being delivered (it was specially warm on Friday).

But, surprisingly, all the pieces fell into place just fine.

My goal was to see her smile, which she did and hasn't stopped doing since Friday.

PS. I still can't believe 33 years have passed so quickly when it comes to our time together, and yet feels like a long time for everything else. :)

Dan-
Congrats to you and Mrs. Dan on the 33rd anniversary.

If you have any bubbly leftover or decide to make this your morning beverage, I have a suggestion for you to try. It is called a Mimosa. 1 part (2.5 oz.) chilled Orange Juice and 1 part (2.5 oz.) chilled Champagne or Asti or Prosecco. It is a nice and light breakfast or brunch cocktail.

Thanks so much!

Guess what? That's what she did with our glasses towards the end. About 1 part juice to 2 parts prosecco, from what I could see.
