What we can count on from Hollywood these days is remakes.

Might be watchable.

KM Keys? I guess it's gonna be a comedy?

They're probably looking at making it the start of a new a series now. Like the newer Star Wars stuff.

PS. Yes. So many writers, so little originality. All piggybacking on pre-existing stories. They really need to learn to leave a good thing alone, and not try to always fix what ain't broken.

While Hollywood may very well be devoid of originality, it has more to do with banking on a "proven commodity" these days. The investors and producers who finance a film are more likely to back a household name than betting on the unfamiliar and unknown, notwithstanding the recent success of this film: link

More likely, a new idea would go straight to DVD if it gets made at all.

Regardless, the only watchable Predator movie is the first one.

While the 1st is my favorite the 2nd has grown on me. I like the acting (Glover, etc), story (gangs/global warming) and action (the initial shootout in the street/the free for all on the train). The last movie was pretty good as well I think.

I'm holding out for the 2019 release of "Star Trek Wars Super/Spider Man Vs Indiana She-Hulk Jones" and the already filming sequel "Planet Of The X-Men Hunger Games Impossible Mission That Is Gone In A Fast And Furious 60 Seconds".

Anyone see this yet? How was it?

Mithmee18 Sep 2018 2:50 p.m. PST

Going to watch it later today.

Mithmee19 Sep 2018 2:04 p.m. PST

Okay watched it and it was petty good.

Soooo…….no "agenda pushing" with this film?

Mithmee23 Sep 2018 8:12 p.m. PST

Well they did try and sell Global Warming/Climate Change but that was about the it.

So yes they were pushing their Agendas.

Bowman26 Sep 2018 7:38 a.m. PST

….but that was about the it.

Well, I'm glad the "it" didn't ruin your enjoyment. Plus, didn't the first two Predator movies suggest that the aliens preferred coming to Earth during heat waves?

So the mysterious yet ubiquitous "they" aren't really pushing anything beyond establishing a plot point for the presence of the aliens, don't you think?.

catavar27 Sep 2018 10:20 a.m. PST

P casually mentions it but P2 really stressed the weather as part of the plot I believe. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Saw The Predator on the weekend. It was OK. The supporting characters were waaay more interesting than the hunky lead. The cliched government bad guy also did a great job. A movie about them would have been more interesting.

As for "pushing agendas" can I include the dopey writers claiming that kids with Asperger's Syndrome are the next stage in human evolution? Ya, that's some McGuffin. Sorry, just channeling Mithmee.

A few times during the movie I'd think, "Hey this is pretty good". Then two minutes later, I'd think, "Jeez, this is not very good at all". I'd vacillate back and forward like that.

The ending, which was just a set up for the next sequel, was totally stupid, in my opinion. It was a pathetic payoff which was hinted at and built up throughout the entire movie. Anything more would be a spoiler.

Well my oldest daughter, who saw the movie with me agrees and that was just plain stupid.
