Well, it's been 2 hours now. Retirement is working out quite well for me so far.

Congratulations!!!

Get some painting done, make some terrain etc. Or simply chill on a hammock with your favorite brew in hand.

It will take you a while to really realize you are retired. I retired Dec 2016 & it took me 6-8 months for it to really settle in. I was still waking up at 0330 as I did when I was working as a nurse until then. Now, gee I sleep until 0500. LOL
ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT, you deserve it!!!

Congratz! The wife and I hope to get there in about 10 years. We are very actively getting things in order so that we hope not to have to work at McDs…….

Congratulations! Still got another two months to go myself.

The last month is the worst, but then when the last week comes it goes very fast.

My wife says I'm moving into the khaki phase of my life.

Everyday on the last week I would come home toss my shirt in the wash and my dress pants in the trash.

Still getting use to this new life. The burdens of responsibility have been lifted, but I still find myself checking my email way to often.

Enjoy your retirement. You'll find plenty to do and you can do it at your own pace or not, it's your call. Your "job" now is to stay healthy. I've been fully retired for five years now. It only gets better. Your wife is right, Khaki is now my favorite color. Have fun.

What's this "retirement" you people speak of????

Old Wolfman01 Jun 2018 6:42 a.m. PST

I still have 12 more years until FRA(full retirement age,in my case; 67) ,add 3 more to max.

Old Wolfman28 Aug 2019 6:28 a.m. PST

That is,if I live that long and…. you do the math.

Old Wolfman14 Jan 2020 10:05 a.m. PST

And my other half is starting on retirement FRA SS benefits, and still able to keep her job(though they did cut her hours so she can still receive her benefits),and getting Medicare Parts A & B.
