Stiers passed away earlier today.

Many will remember him for his role as the Boston
Brahmin surgeon on M.A.S.H.

My favorite of his roles was as the small-town
Mississippi mayor in 'Doc Hollywood'.

Others may recall his recurring role as a Russian
police official on 'Murder, She Wrote'.

Early work included a multiple episode stint as
the DA on 'Perry Mason.'

Stiers was a noted musician and had a career as a
conductor. He was well-known for his voice portrayals
on a number of films, especially Disney productions.

An actor with depth and breadth and a wonderful sense
of timing. He'll be missed.

RIP sir and thanks for wonderful performances.

Winchester was my favourite character on MASH. So many great moments and character development.
Also great on star trek.
