Sue Costa, the wife of Rick Costa, a gamer who I've known since 1990 died Sunday evening due to leukemia. She'd battled blood cancer for the last five years. Rick wound up taking her to Siteman cancer center four times a week for treatment.

In the end, Sue's platelet count was too low to continue the chemotherapy. She was in hospice the last several months. The whole thing has aged Rick greatly. He'd gotten out of gaming ten years ago for drumming for a Middle Eastern belly dancing group here in St. Louis. Recently, he got back into fantasy and sci-fi gaming.

He told me they'd been together 50 years. However, they didn't have children. I thinks that's due to the fact he's a retired school teacher and saw how many of his kids turned out!

My condolences to the family as well. 50 years is a goal I can certainly aspire to, and well worth my respect and admiration.
