Made it up after a few delays. link Musk said he thought it had a 50/50 chance of a successful launch. |

Well, now we know it works, who volunteer to be on the next launch? |

Seeing the car in space reminds be of the scene in the movie Heavy Metal. I can hear the Riggs song Radar Rider. But of course no one can hear in space. Phil |

I've heard nothing on the core landing – supposed to be on the drone water platform (I hesitate to call it a 'drone ship). The two side boosters looked to be perfectly landed and in tandem, at that. |

I read that "the core recovery was unsuccessful." Not sure what that precisely means, but I think we can say it didn't stick the landing. EDIT: Excerpt from news article (and no, I had not read this before I posted):
Following the launch, SpaceX was able to recover the two side boosters, landing them safely at Cape Canaveral. However, the central core did not stick the landing on a floating drone ship 300 miles off the Florida coast. Musk said late Tuesday the booster hit the water at 300 mph because it could re-light only one of the three engines needed to land. |
