The 'other' Rosie (Rockwell's) is really depicted as a riveter. The Women's Ordnance Worker Rosie predates Rockwell's, of course. The WOW Rosie as depicted in the 'We Can Do It' poster isn't wearing a WOW headscarf, just a red scarf with white circles/dots. I wonder if that was to avoid copyright infringement ? |
