I love it. It's about time we did something about it. But I can also already see a new tv sitcom being planned by Hollywood out of this. A crew of mixed misfits serving as our first line of defense against our very own space trash. Their badges could have a big broom in the center. Throw in the occasional North Korean spy agent trying to get his/her sexy hands on bits from spy satellites, and done. :) Dan |

That all rang a bell, but had to go to IMDB to confirm: imdb.com/title/tt0077066 I thought it was funny at the time and it has a pretty good rating of 7.2/10. Even though the clips don't seem good at all. Ahh……memories. |

Lol. That's hilarious. I never heard of that show. I think I would have remembered those twins. You've made my day. Dan |

Ah the Betty's, who could forget them. Best line from the whole series… "What now?" – Space Princess "Now, Now we wait for the bee." – Ficus |

There is another (animated) show, called Planetes that is about a crew of space junk collectors: YouTube link. It's a more serious look at the problem. Ron |

I had forgotten the show Quark existed (I'd heard of it, but never watched it). Having now seen the clips, maybe I was happier in my ignorance. |

Ya, but to be fair the samples may not be indicative of the series on the whole. The humour is from the dry wit of Buck Henry. He wrote the more droll parts of Get Smart as opposed to Mel Brooks' more manic bits. On the other hand you could be totally right. Edit: and he also wrote the screenplays for "The Graduate" and "Catch-22", two of my favourite movies. |
