…in the 19th century, study finds.

"From Trump to Heinz, some of America's most famous family names and brands trace their origins back to Germans who emigrated to the country in the 19th century. Researchers have now found that climate was a major factor in driving migration from Southwest Germany to North America during the 19th century…."

This isn't particularly new. The little Ice Age drove a bunch of things in Europe, including a wave of revolutions that were stimulated by food shortages, resultant emigration, Dicken's portrayal of London Christmas (snow is usually rare in that part of England, but not during that period), and, if I recall correctly, was a major factor in the Irish potato famine.

No Dan. It is not. Why would you think such a thing?

The 1848 Revolutions should be considered as a cause of German, Austrian emigration.

Remember when all the armies of the world wore sandals and miniskirts?

If not for AGW, nice legs would still be a marital virtue.

I believe the article addresses that.

Bring on the heat!
VIVA DOGGERLAND!

You are aware that those options are mutually exclusive?

If you want to see Doggerland, your going need large a major deep freeze to pick up enough water to lower the mean sea levels 60+ meters.

thumbs up Martin
