Darn! You beat me to it! Link Wray of course. I had a girlfriend who would always put on Nights in White Satin. To get me in the mood. Like I needed it. |

Well, this is very good news for the simple fact that Glenn Hughes and the rest of Deep Purple, along with other rock groups have made it very clear…now that they are part of the voting membership they are going to support ROCK groups instead of the likes of James Taylor et al and it seems to be panning out! As most of you know, I had been screaming for years for DP to be inducted, NOW it is time to get the Moody Blues in there…they are on the top of my list, followed by Dire Straits and then the Cars! |

I went ahead and voted on the fan page and then looked at totals as of today. 1. Bon Jove 2. Dire Straits 3. Moody Blues last place – Link Wray, this is probably due to most of the voters never having heard of him or his music. So we need to pump-up the vote for Link to improve his chances. Some on the list are quite a way from rock, or roll for that matter. Sister Rosetta ? yeah – great performer, big influence on the folk scene, great blues singer, but rock ? By what definition rock? |

Why, by Donna Summer's definition… inducted in 2013. If the Queen of Disco can get voted in before all these others, she must of course be, "more influential to Rock." It is apparent ANYONE can get in, "Rock," or not. |

All the way with Link Wray. |

Clearly true. What makes it worse is that it's the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now, we can quibble about who was the last great in Rock and Roll (it's Buddy Holly, obviously), but – as a genre – Rock and Roll ceased to be really vital around 1964 when The Beatles stopped covering Little Richard and went for albums of all their own stuff. Ok – there are later revivalists like Sha Na Na – but Rock and Roll is so over. Rock continues, sporadically vibrant and relevant. |

Rock continues, sporadically vibrant and relevant. Yep, and real Rock doesn't give a rat's ass about any Hall of Fame! |
