A truly wonderful songwriter, with simple rugged approach to rock and roll. Got to see him in August with my sons. This is a terrible loss.

Yeah, this really sucks, big, big fan of his, saw him multiple times in concert. Always a humble person, really appreciated the crowd support and reactions at his concerts. Hit after hit, too many to list. 66 is way too young, RIP Tom.

In "The Postman",playing the "mayor" of "Bridge City" on the site of a hydroelectric dam,and Kevin Costner says he thinks he recognized him,saying he was "famous',and Petty replies ,"Well,maybe I was once…." Rest easy,bro,and thanks.
