A little late,as he died last April, but I just found out:

RIP, Mr. Peel. Never heard of you, but that's because
I'm culturally backwards….

I remember him appearing on the David Frost Show with John and Yoko. It was the zenith of his career. When he died, I thought he was too obscure to post here. What he lacked in vocals and musicianship, he tried to make up with enthusiasm! Since it's been posted here, RIP.

You just hit on one of the essential features, and virtues, of punk.

I'll admit I lost track of him,post-1970. Not very hip.

And by the time I woke up to punk, I'd already missed two Ramones concerts in my town.

I'm STILL kicking myself for that one.

Saw the Ramones 3 times.

That's right,rub it in!

I did see Blondie, on their Parallel Lines tour. 5 bucks.

Those days are over.

I saw Blondie at my State Fair. It was after Debbie Harry had put her career on hold to nurse Chris Stein. My ticket was not $5.00 USD!
