We are watching a new popular science show. Called fight for life. This episode deals with heredity and gene technology.

In the name of science. The presenter gives a sperm sample.
It raced against pig, bull and dog sperm.

First place went to the pig at 1.3cm a minute, second to the bull at 1.2. At a distant 3rd dog at 0.7. Poor presenter limpes in at 0.5cm a minute.

For science.

Well for the presenter it could be his diet or he could be suffering from low-T.

I'm descended from a long line of microscopic tadpoles; champions each and every one.

"…presenter limps in…"

Interesting choice of words for the last place finisher.

Sounds like he needs to "up" his game. Can't be that "hard", can it? I'm sure there are many solutions to help him "rise" to the occasion next time.

Aside from sperm count movies and shows about couples trying to have a baby often talk about the guy's sperm "motility", right?

So I guess it's not much of a race when all your little guys barely make out of the starting line, because they either don't move or because they just want to do nothing but swim in circles.

PS. This one here is supposedly "drunk" because of a chemical in the sunscreen the man applied to his skin hours earlier:

Dan, you wrote:

But, from the link provided, I read:

"A sperm under the influence of an endocrine disrupting chemical in sunscreen. Because of chemicals like these, sperm have trouble swimming properly to deliver the goods."

That is not the same thing.

Hoewever, I'll commend you for linking to that op-ed article. Very interesting. I especially liked the comment:

"What's needed above all is more aggressive regulation of endocrine disrupting chemicals. America has been much slower than Europe to regulate toxic chemicals, and most chemicals sold in the U.S. have never been tested for safety.

The larger question is why we allow the chemical industry — by spending $100,000 USD on lobbying per member of Congress — to buy its way out of effective regulation of endocrine disruptors. The industry's deceit marks a replay of Big Tobacco's battle against regulation of smoking."

……marks a replay of Big Tobacco's battle against regulation of smoking? Hmmm……on what other topic have I heard that before? wink

Yep. Just like Big Tobacco.

As long as they it's legal to bribe politicians. That will happen.
Getting money out of politics is your only hope

Lol. Yeah, the professional takers there need to just say "no". :)
