Warmbier, aged 22, was in a coma since shortly after his trial in North Korea:

My thoughts and prayers for his family and loved ones.

His foolhardy act over a year ago in NK, and just risking travel there in the first place, turned him into the butt of many jokes (I was guilty of that myself), but no parent should have to endure the suffering and death of a child, no matter the age of their child.

Rest in peace. Yet another death out of thousands NK is guilty off.
Given the state he was in when he arrived home. Death was probably the best outcome for him. If not for his loved ones.
Nobody deserves the treatment he received no matter what he supposedly did.

The only good to this is the fact that he got to be home with his family. He may or may not have been aware of this but the family certainly was. God bless them all.
