There are conflicting accounts of casualties in this insane act of violence.

This Indian news source speaks of "several feared dead":

Western media speaks only in terms of injured so far.

I hope all the injured pull through and recover fully, and that they and their loved ones have the strength and support system to overcome their physical and emotional pain. And if there are in fact fatalities, as the Indian news agency reports, I sincerely pray for them and their families.

EDIT – This UK paper now mentions fatalities:

Senseless. Will it ever stop?

Sadly it appears to have gotten into the tit for tat mode.

And there is never enough tit to balance the tat.

Just to assure everyone involved, most of the non-Muslim world does not condone religious intolerance and violence. It is only a small percentage of this population that acts this way and it does NOT speak or act for the rest.

Thoughts and prayers to the victims of this most recent act of violence as well as the victims of the previous three attacks in recent months.

zoneofcontrol, I would agree with you but expand your comment to say most of the world without exception does not condone religious intolerance and violence. I have yet to meet a person in all my travels that would say this type of behavior was even remotely acceptable.

Looks like the perpetrator was one Daniel Osborne of Cardiff, Wales, reportedly a "drunken lout" who had been kicked out of his home and was living in a tent. Although it's not clear yet, from what I've read I'm guessing that he may be mentally ill, and was probably intoxicated at the time of his actions, though his actions were clearly intentional, albeit perhaps influenced by substances and/or illness.
