VR already has a lot of haptic capabilities. These advances would increase quality, resolution, and coverage simultaneously.

Interesting there was nothing about weapons. The "tractor beam" (technically a repulsor beam) hinted at the potential damage caused by large sonic fields.

Personally, I'm waiting for the sonic screwdriver. One tool, no attachments. Phillips, flathead, hex bolt, allen screw, wingnut, quad bolt, nail (roofing, finishing, brad, etc.).

And, of course, the ability to use my full hands to sculpt something really big, then use the tool to shape greenstuff at small scale.
