Trailer : YouTube link it's actually pretty good – Bill Nighy is excellent value as the ageing thespian coaxed into taking part in a propaganda boosting Miracle of Dunkirk film, being made at the height of the blitz. Is there Romance – well, yes. Is it well acted – pretty good ensemble. Script – pretty good too. Of course it's a film about making film as well as a wartime story. The snippets of footage of "finished" films are very much in the 1940s style. Enjoyed it. There was a poster for an upcoming film : "Dunkirk" and there was a trailer for a Winston Churchill / D-Day film. WWII seems to be this year's thing….. |

Exciting times ahead. This one does look good. I'll be looking forward to the other two as well. I'd been waiting for Dunkirk. Did not know about the Churchill film. |

Rated R. My wife won't see it. Too bad………. Wow. Really ?? In the UK it is a 12A. Which means : Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child. To help them decide, we recommend that they check the BBFCinsight for that film in advance. So, you should be 12, but if you're younger you can go along as you have an adult along with you. But they probably shouldn't take you. But it's up to them to decide really. Very brief partial female nudity (about 2 seconds). Couple of sex scenes – but nothing that graphic. One character is a lesbian – but this isn't spelt out quite in those terms, she just dresses a bit like a bloke. Someone says the F-word once, maybe twice. Swearing in Polish (with subtitles for comic effect). Oh – and lots of people die in the blitz… |

Not sure about that Churchill movie. But the one noted above does look good. |

Churchill looks really good. Not a "war" movie per se but a "behind the scenes" look at the D-Day invasion. I think it could be really interesting. That is the most complete trailer for Dunkirk I've seen so far. |

That is not a behind the scenes look of D-Day. That is a Anti-Churchill movie. |

Looks more like a pro-Churchill film. Saves the day by pushing the military harder. We already know he was a manic-depressive and an alcoholic, so no surprises there. |

Anti Churchill movie? Where do you get that, Mithy? He was the most sane of the "Big Three". He could sleep soundly and get up and go back to work. That says something good about his frame of mind. "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." That shows a pragmatic realism………… |

They have him thinking that D-Day was going to turn out like Gallipoli and that it was going to be a bloodbath for the Allies. Which is just might have been if Monty was in charge. Good thing that he wasn't. There are a few other scenes as well. Nope, that Churchill movie is an Anti-Churchill movie with him looking like a fool. |

The trailer suggests, to me anyway, that Churchill is shown as arguing for an expanding of the landing zones to prevent a Gallipoli like disaster by landing on too narrow a front. Well….I'll reserve final judgement until after I've actually seen the film. |

I didn't catch any anti Churchill from the trailer. I'll reserve judgment too………… |
