Despite any controversy that was in his past, Chuck Berry was a true pioneer of rock 'n roll. His guitar technique and showmanship would be an inspiration to many rock-based groups and individuals such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many, many others. He was also seen in a couple of early rock-based movies like 'Rock Rock Rock!' and 'Go, Johnny, Go!' performing his early hits. He was 90 years old.

Godspeed, Mr. Berry, and thank you very, very much.

When I heard about this, I thought of two songs right away.

American Pie – Don McLean
While My Guitar Gently Weeps – George Harrison/Beatles

Thanks from one of "Chuck's children."

If the history of Rock'n'Roll were condensed his name would still figure prominently. His influence on rock acts, that would become legendary, is undisputed. RIP!

Sadly, the lyrics "strumming to the rhythm the drivers made" is lost on most people. Love Johnnie B Goode.
