Tony Rosato, one of the classic SCTV ensemble, passed away early this week. He never quite made it like some of the others, but I always enjoyed his work and his characters (esp. chef Marcello). He had some sad issues with mental illness later in life, and a run in with the legal system's inability to deal with mental illness well – he spent more time in jail pre-trial for harassment than anyone actually convicted of harassment in Canada – but it sounds like he finally got good treatment and life was better again for the last several years. link |
