R.I.P. Green Hornet. You were one of my childhood's greatest heroes.

That's sad. I still love the Green Hornet character and that TV series. I understand Van was a good friend of Adam West, neighbors even, which is quite droll. Rest in peace.

I was one who vastly preferred the GH show over Batman. One of the few, seemingly.

Make that two.
Green Hornet was the bomb. He won just on sidekicks alone. Kato vs. Robin? Come on…

"Kato vs. Robin"-- Burt Ward tells that Bruce Lee played a joke on him when the episode was filmed, pretending to be mad at Ward leading up to the fight scene. Ward was definitely intimidated, till Bruce Lee revealed the joke.
Recently Ward has stated he was a black belt in karate (apparently he trained for the show) and used to spar with Bruce Lee during the show's run (they were neighbors), but acknowledged that Lee was by far superior in his training and skill. How much of that is true, I can't verify, though there is at least one article on Google books from the time period that describes Ward's training efforts.

I've never seen any of the Green Hornet series, and was utterly disappointed when the recent movie turned out to be a turkey (I skipped on it, based on reviews).

He can, once again, team up with Bruce Lee! RIP.
