I have been a fan of Ghost in the Shell since the comic came out in the States around the mid-90s. I have been skeptical of the upcoming film -- until now. This trailer got me excited to see the movie.

UGH, that beige body suit, no music from either series and a MARCH release date!

Dainjer, Dainjer, Will Robinson…this looks like it might be seriously messed up!

The trailer looks great!

Looks impressive, but what they say in the trailer seems to suggest they are trying some kind of Robocop Redux storyline about how her humanity was somehow "stolen". This was never really a point in the original manga or anime, cyborgs were an established and accepted fact of life and they were more interested in exploring the philosophical implication rather than the old "technology is evil" pseudo-morality tale …

In the series, her origins were established and had nothing to do with 'stolen humanity'.

Also, a March release date means that Hollywood knows that the movie sucks/will-can suck and they are trying to do their best to get some $$$ out of it before the Summer movies hit.

I am going to buck TMP tradition and go by what I SEE and not make assumptions because of one line in a trailer or worse yet, when it is being released. It looks GREAT.

I want it to be great, but…we shall see.

I'll go see it.

Same deadpan acting from her venture in Lucy.

Apparently the big uproar about the film is not about the quality but about not casting a Japanese actress in the role.

I don't need the "Fan Service", a snug outfit is fine, Batou (sic?) looks about right as do the camo suits, just that "old lady suck in your stomach" leotard, the questions being raised about her existence, no signs of the killer original musique and, to be honest, would it have been impossible to at least consider a (Eur)Asian femme fatale for the lead. (Michelle Yeoh being a bit too long in the tooth to consider, I understand).

It looks great and let's just see how it is before judging by a trailer. Nope? Okay carry on in the usual way.

I have reservations but I'll go see it. Love the original and would love to see Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence again but I don't know how its possible in the U.S.

I'm not a big fan of the trailer but open to being surprised.

THe big problem is that a lot of the films and show are tied explicitly to being set in Japan but Hollywood isn't going to risk doing that.
