Pardon me for sounding ignorant, but what the heck is a corch alert?

Waco Joe24 Sep 2016 3:45 p.m. PST

Corch = coach
Corch alert means a coach whose incompetence has risen to such a degree as to warrant termination. Aka fly a banner

Did i interpret smokeyese correctly?

Waco is spot on

Don't mind Smokey. He considers it the height of wit to mispronounce or misspell a coach's name.
You can't blame him solely for that. He…. Miami. 'Nuff said about that.

'Corch' is a pronunciation in vogue among the players
from the late 1940's through about the early 1960's,
mostly by players with rural backgrounds.

Most famous adherent – Dandy Don Meredith, QB for
SMU, the Dallas Cowboys and on-air partner for
Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford…

Lay off Franklin. The betting line was State Penn +40. He easily beat the spread.

Smokey. It's JAMES Franklin. But you know that.
For some reason, you get your tee-hees from calling him "Roosevelt". I expect that from Skip Bayless. Do you really want to pattern your commentary after a classless boob like him?

He's an adequate coach. He is filling in until PSU decides to upgrade to a winning coach.
Shoot, we may get 6 wins this year.

LOL Winston. Roosevelt Franklin was a muppet on Sesame Street back in the non PC 1970's. He was a pimp and pool hall hustler, and I think Isaac Hayes did his voice.

I remember when he sold Ernie a gold watch in the alley, for Berts birthday present.

I call him that because its the first name that comes to mind when I hear Franklin.

I know, OFM. I just dont like him because he beat out Al Folden for the job in 2014.
