I know nothing about the original context, or anything about Ivan Torrent. I do know that the pieces of music by him that follow do not have the same cohesion or "fulsome" quality of this piece. I've listened to it a bunch of times by now and I keep wanting to listen to it. The effect on my system is quite profound. It makes all my cells quiver. So, I am sharing. Of course, you need a really good subwoofer to appreciate it….
