One of the problems with the "Battle of the Bastards" on GoT was it went out at the same time as the 2 part ending of "Penny Dreadful."

For those unfamiliar with the series it was an infinely superior "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" drawing on a number of 19thC novels and horror themes.

These two shows have been the staple viewing here for the last nine weeks, well technically more since we inevitably rewatch both in the subsequent week.

The problem came at the end of "Penny Dreadful" we had the death of a major character and then before the closing credits the ominous words "THE END" appeared.

Now the writer John Logan stated 2014 he'd charted out a basic 3 series arc of stories. While one basic major plot line is resolved I've become invested in the stories and would like it continue.

Any other thoughts on "Penny Dreadful" which was infinitely superior to the NBC "Dracula" which thankful only lasted one series.

I only saw a few 1st season episodes but liked what I saw.

As you've said, the writer only wrote it as a three-series story. I thought the ending was perfect and resurrecting it for another series would be a mistake.
