In this link there are videos of famous songs that have been transposed to Major/Minor key and they all sound quite different.

But having no musical training and being unable to hold a tune even if it came with handles, can someone explain this to me as if I was a complete idiot on the subject ?

Can't explain it, but interesting differences.

Maybe would be good to think in terms of painting in our hobby. A mini might be well painted with just the basic and correct colors. However, adding a wash, highlighting, weathering, etc. adds to it to the point that it changes the final product. We add these things to make the mini "pop" and look more realistic.

Put me in the Van Gogh Society for the Appreciation of Music, but I can't tell the difference in most of them. But then, audiophiles are in a world of their own.
