I'll be in Oakland, CA, on business next week. Any local game stores with a good selection of historicals (not FOW). How about hobby shops for 1/72 scale?

Berkley Hardware on University for models. Not sure on game stores anymore

Endgame – endgameoakland.com – is the greatest game store anywhere, but they don't have a lot of historical miniatures. Wargames yes, historical minis no. They're very hard to stock efficiently. I haven't seen any game store around here with historical minis to speak of, other than the explicitly excluded FOW.

But if you're in downtown Endgame is worth a visit.

Berkeley Hardware is a must for the modelling and some 1/72 stuff as Mr. Sabre6 says. Been going there for about 50 years now.

Dan Webb books on 17th Street has a nice selection of used books and specializes in military stuff.

Have fun.
