Microsoft has a robust test program. Alas, as with most IT developers, they focus on the technology heavily and the operational environment little or not at all. I have to compensate for that issue every day. |

Where I come from when the powers that be fail (and do they fail) they take out the 'The racists are to blame file' and blame accordingly, even when by all can obviously see they are doing it to save face, perhaps MS/evil empire is doing the same, imperfect software getting blamed by said company because of crummy test/ideas etc. I think if any AI ever got clever enough it'd get rid of the whole lot of us ;) |

y, the company's online chat bot designed to talk like a teen, started spewing racist and hateful comments on Twitter on Wednesday, Based on my experience with online gaming I'd say Tay was working exactly as designed. |

Just consider the source of the bot and its programming – get it done-get it out -make money-fix later. There is an old programming adage that goes: "Garbage in -Garbage out." |
