When I was a kid, from the age of 5 onwards, every meal was accompanied with a mug of hot, sweet, milky tea. Times have changed.

I now think the best general beverage to drink with food is……water. I don't mind wine on occasion but I think water the perfect accompaniment. The worst would have to be soft drink: artificial flavours & sugar. I rarely if ever drink it any more, with a meal or without.

We have 6 water jugs in the fridge filled with chilled, filtered water: always a glass on hand.

I am very fond of water- as an ingredient. evil grin

For me with meals a nice hoppy beer or a good glass of wine.
I totally agree with the soft drinks though!

I prefer Beer. Style depends on the food.

I find that I agree with Ochoin, although I like sweet iced tea as well on occasion.

Unsweet iced tea.

Lately I have been wanting grape slushes from Sonic. There is something satiating about them plus you get to play the "drink up to the point of brain freeze" game.

For me it's my home brewed sweet tea with lime….or a D&G Ginger Beer.

Hot tea with sugar and lime.

After that maybe Mt. Dew or Cherry Pepsi.

I used to enjoy Ginger Ale (and still do, but only the
really hot stuff from a small bottler in South Carolina
and that in great moderation).

Mostly water and coffee these days.

Water, followed by sweet iced tea. For the pizza-fast food route…gotta be Coca Cola. with breakfast…definitely coffee and whole milk as well.
