Tumbleweeds means something completely different in the western US

Most are two to three feet across but some can be as large as a car.

These too accumulate at windbreaks.

@Terrement: That's what comes to my mind when I hear tumbleweeds as well.

Don't even need gasoline if you've got a match. Western-style tumbleweeds go up in flames rather easily, and I bet the Australian ones do as well.
