…that broke her wrist. I mean seriously?

She is seeking $127,000 USD in damages from the boy, whose mother died last year.

Speculative translation: the mother's estate and/or life insurance left a tidy sum to the son. Aunt wants a piece of that action.

You know I'm right.

Funnily enough that was my wives take on it.

Were I the father, I'd probably settle for half the amount and then invite her to NEVER COME BACK. I'm sorry she hurt her wrist. It was clearly an accident. Also, broken bones don't cost $127,000 USD to fix.

Of the damage done, Connell testified that she did not complain at the time, but she said her life had been "very difficult" since the injury because of "how crowded it is in Manhattan". "I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d'oeuvre plate," she reportedly said.

Maybe she should stop going to parties?

Seems the jury weren't impressed:

I am glad the jury had some sense.

Just wow from her lawyer

But the nephew, who was eight at the time of the hug, "should have known better".

"We have rules for children," the lawyer continued. "He was not careful. He was unsafe."

So we should teach children not to hug relatives as it is unsafe …..

Dollar to donut this is due to the two insurance companies refusing to pay without the lawsuit

"I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d'oeuvre plate," she reportedly said.

That is as fine a definition of a first world problem as I have ever read.

And now the father should invite her to NEVER come over again!

There are no winners in this

Yeah, the 'and she can't handle the stick shift on her Maserati either.'

A person like this, with such a lack of morals. Next they will say she's running in a political race.
The Father and child should never have anything to do with her again.

My nephew gave me a really wicked cold the spring before last, what's the statue of limitations on that?

She was at her nephew's in CT. the insurance company of the nephew's parents refused to pay on her claim that since she was hurt at his house the homeowner's policy should pay up. You can't sue the insurance company of the homeowner directly in CT. So she sued her nephew. It's entirely possible that she and the nephew's parents colluded in the lawsuit to try and get money from the insurance company.

Anyway you put it its totally reprehensible.
