Was there an actual prize, or just a mention in the Marvel Comic? They kept it secret. |

Originally the "prize" was seeing your letter in print in the comics. Later Stan the Man began mailing out empty envelopes. I never won one, but one of the guys in my elementary school did. Lucky dog! link |

At first, there was literally no prize; later on Marvel started mailing a specially-marked envelope, which was empty. Ron P.S. Kudos to Jpattern2 for typing faster than me; sadly, there is no prize. |

I'm browsing some of these older threads,and trying to resist necro-posting,but thought you might be interested to know that in the very early years of the "new" Marvel,there was a prize:five bucks. I guess it got too expensive,and when the new superhero titles really took off,they probably figured they didn't need it. That's not the reason Stan Lee gave at the time,of course. |
