I click on a link at MSN.com and the first thing that opens isn't the article/video (didn't stay long enough to find out which), it's a dammed ad, in HD, noisy, in my face, with no volume controls, no options to close the ad down, nothing. It goes on for half a minute while I search fecklessly for the controls that give me a CHOICE. Not finding any, I swore at them and exited. I hope that enough viewers react similarly so that this does not become the norm….

I'm with you! Any time I can't control an ad I immediately close the window and move on, regardless of how interested in the article I may be.

Downloading Adblocker Plus is 2 minutes well spent…. Its default setting is to allow unobtrusive advertising, while cheerfully nuking anything flash / video / noisy….

Whoa! Adblock Plus shows up in my list of "uninstall or change a program" (via Control Panel). But when I search for it I get "No items match your search". What's going on? It's on my machine but not on my machine?

I did an experiment: Adblock Plus did not block the add on the Ben Carson page using Google Chrome, but it did block the ad using IE, and went straight to the Ben Carson interview.

So I am both trepidatious about having something on my machine that the Search function cannot find, and it doesn't work with my preferred browser….

Not worth it, uninstalled, thanks anyway….

Adblock Plus works great with Firefox, not so great with Chrome.

Ahh – Firefox is my browser of choice – didn't realise it's less useful with Chrome, sorry.
