"If but we Christians have our beer, Nothing's to fear." -- Sir William Ashbless Quoted in the frontispiece to The Drawing of the Dark by Tim Powers I'm a teetotaler myself, but it's a great quote. |

I absolutely love Trappist beer – Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle, etc, etc. Here in Wales we have a Trappist monastery on an island just offshore that was founded by and is still affiliated with the Chimay monastery. Do we get fabulous beer? Do we heck! They make perfume and chocolate! Grrr! |

I'm okay with chocolate. Perfume, I don't need or want. |

Don't forget cheeses, liqueurs, and sparkling wine. (even though the latter is no longer made in a monastery, afaik. |

I wish I lived near a monastery that made cheese and alcoholic beverages. |
