I've got the first 2 books in the series, about 1/3rd through the first one (Dwarves). I'm thinking of giving up on it.

It reads like a write up of a pretty good D&D game. The characters are very flat. The plot is hokey. Does it get any better?

Interestingly enough, I read the 1st two and just could not get into the 3rd one either. Probably made it 100 pages.

I think I'm probably going to finish book 1 and give up – I'm almost halfway now.

It's not great though.
