Yes, that was a good one. The movie is definitely worth watching.

A few observations:

1. The movie is blatantly a product of the 1980s (with soundtrack by Wang Chung).

2. William Petersen plays a character poles apart from CSI's Gil Grissom.

3. There are a number of fight scenes, which are clumsy and inconclusive until someone gets hold of a firearm.

4. Was Willem Dafoe always scary?

5. The ending is memorably cynical, and perfect for the movie.

Thanks for reminding me of this film!

Saw it in the theater on the big screen, and several times since on the small screen. Yowza!

I remember seeing a behind-the-scenes feature on the making of the chase scene. In some shots the cars were on giant lazy susans to get the right skidding/drifting effects. Very cool.

That was awesome, but it could have used more Wang Chung.

Pretty much. It's long, has plenty of variety, and it is pretty scary.

Live & Die in L.A. is a good flik. Whatever happened to William Peterson?

Coelacanth27 May 2013 6:12 a.m. PST

Petersen played Dr. Gil Grissom on CSI from 2000 until 2010.

Totally unbelievable, guy spots them from the bridge? the people after them know where they are going and have no trouble bringing a small army? To be scary it's got to be at least believable. Bullet is pure speed and adrenalin and the photography was fantastic.

I'd say the chase scene in the Blues Brothers. When the police are chasing them through the streets of Chicago. Dan Akroyd said the cut scenes in the film looking straight ahead when they are racing under the train overpass. The film crew set up early in the morning and did not block off any streets. They were suppose to drive 40 mph to get the street view scenes. He said the driver started blowing red lights and speeding up. So he said those cut scenes were real.

then also you gotta love when they drive through the mall.

I remember when they filmed that. The mall was going to be torn down. So they used it to film those scenes in. lol

Bullet was a good one, and so was the London chase in McQ!

Read this thread, then went to the free movies on Comcast and watched "To Live And Die In LA." Thought it was great.

I was also wondering where the army of goons came from during the car chase scenes. Were they attracted to sound like zombies?

Defoe is always good.

That one's good, but my favorite has always been Bullitt*.

I also like this one: YouTube link

*Not Bullet.
