Not sure this is the right board, but didn't see one for 3-D printing on TMP-Plus, so here goes.

No, not 3-D printed miniatures, but 3-D printed food:

Mmmm, sounds delicious! (incredibly thick, heavy, dripping sarcasm, intended)

Note, the designer is "agnostic" about what the powdered ingredients, liquids, and oils are derived from.

Don't miss the 3-D printed human organs and tissue article, as a related story, at the bottom of the page.

Somehow, the movie Soylent Green comes to mind.

I'm hoping to be dead and buried(?), long before any of this really catches on in a big way.

Of course, the mega-food corporations may have something to say about the disposition of my carcass, once I expire, if this comes to pass.

Bon appetit……..

I think this could indeed become a popular way of preparing food. I would not mind a pizza type base printed with various tastes and textures the ingredients for which I would not prefer in their original forms.

We are going to have to feed a lot of people and getting less popular ingredients in a more acceptable form will be helpful. I probably won't live to see it but may be one of the first to use it if I do.

Sounds like WalMart meat. "Up to a 10% caramel solution to enhance freshness…"
What a way to ruin a steak.

It would also be 'helpful' to reduce/reverse population growth… but gee, babies are so darn cute.
