Why are three of the Hobbits blank? Elrond and Arwen and her brothers are not half-elves. Elrond is the great-grandson of Luthien Tinuviel and Beren the man, but Elrond chose the fate of elves, i.e. immortality and being tied to "Arda" (the world) as long as it stands. Therefore Arwen is full elven. Elros, Elrond's twin brother, chose extended mortality and the fate of men, and was the first king of Numenor. Aragon is not a "man", he's a Dunedain, descended from Elros, and therefore is properly termed "half-elven". Even a geek chemistry studen can get his genealogy, and thus his "periodic" races table wrong

I hate to be picky – but are you sure that Elrond Half-Elven is not
in some sense
.half-elven? As far as I recall Aragorn is never called half-elven, but everyone calls Elrond that, from Gandalf down. |

Some people make charts, some people argue geneology of fictional characters. Too much time. |
