Have they passed the point it should occur or is it still unknown whether they are going to do it per the book? |

The main victim is a popular hunk, so I am 50:50 if they will pull it off. It should happen in Episode 8 or 9, if at all. Things are leading up to it. |

Remember, Boromir was killed, both in LOTR and as the Mark II version (aka Ned Stark) so they could still do it, only I hear it isn't just the hunk but other "popular" characters as well, so perhaps you are right. |

Well, that's Sean Bean. He always dies. |

Well, given what happens to CS (per Ser Boric's thread) I would have thought the Red Wedding was still on, but given that Ser Boric's thread is being largely ignored maybe not. And CS is as important a character as TS, IMO, possibly more so. Ser Boric's thread seems such an interesting one I am disappointed they are ignoring it. |

Might have to read the damn books after all! |

I think the character load for season 3 is just hovering around unmanageable – a lot of folks here rely on me to explain what is going on after watching an episode two or three times in the week. Given the way they are changing some of the stories and bringing at least one storyline ahead by two books I think the show knows Martin is insane and frankly being a great big jerk by adding new characters every few pages so he can milk his fans who first bought the original Game of Thrones book nearly 20 years ago. At least for me I only came onto his books just under a year ago and I'm still ready to devour anything he writes for this series. I still really think he is totally unfair to the fans that have made him rich from this book series by smugly going on about how he still needs to write 3000 more pages. And hey altfritz how do you know about the red wedding if you haven't read the books! . It looks tome the series is dipping into an unstoppable attack dive on both the red wedding and possibly something else that will be a shock. -- Tim |

I think the RW would make a good season closer though it sounds like it would be pretty grim. I looked it up on wiki. |

I have read that Book 3 will be split into 2 HBO seasons. But, HBO has dragged into this season some stuff from later books, like Theon doing penance for his venial sins. Which makes me wonder if the RW will be put off until Season 4. However, there is till the Purple Wedding! I see that one being put off for Season 4, since we have no Martells in the cast. I can see the RW being totally altered or not even going through with it. I started reading the books the day after GoT Season 1 debuted on TV. I have not had to suffer through Martin's sloth and inability to edit like the rest of the book reading world. However, now that I see him farting around, I can see Book 6 coming along when I have lost the ability to hold a book without drooling all over it. I am counting on the Network that brought us the Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire to show George the error of his ways. I was reading the Dresden Files at the same time, and HE does a new book every year! |

I've been with The OFM all down the line as too the Producers testicular fortitude on this but I'm shifting my odds to 60:40 on it going ahead. Either way its an acid test. If they skip the piece it will signify a major creative rights deal with the Author in terms of how they see the destination of the whole. That's to say – OK George this is where things really become "based on the books of
." In some ways it could help HBO out of a jam. As it stands they have a issue on how long they can push a story line that Boy George is Lord Knows how long from getting published – lets face it, two unedited books however you look at it – and the current series takes us half way through Book 3. Series 4 is go, so one can assume the end of Book 3 and whatever of Book 4 but how long can they wait before they make up their own ending to the overall saga? What happens if they use up the existing Books before the Bearded Wonder finishes the remaining work? Or we all die! :o) If taking The Wedding gives them more potential independent plot options my guess is they will run with it. |

When Book 6 comes out, what are the odds against bringing YET ANOTHER absurdly complicated plot arc in? If I were an HBO thug and had a say in the written books, I would have a kraken drown Victarion in Chapter 1. Martin already had a dragon dispose of the Crispy Martell. so there is hope. |

go to this GoT "theories" site: Just did! I've come to the conclusion that Martin's 'loyal following' are as bonkers as he is! Actually I've now seen how he will end the Books. He in fact stopped writing after Book 5 and he's been putting together a selection of sundry plot lines imagined by GoT fanatics in the intervening period which will pull it all in and save him the bother! :o) |

The best thing about that site is that every single one is a valid one, much like Kennedy Assassination theories. It's when they start to contradict each other that the heavy lifting begins. I would agree that they are bonkers, but then I paint toy soldiers and play battles with them. Who am I to point fingers? I had come independently to my own "theory" that Jon Snow is the offspring of Rhaegar T and Lyanna Stark. As did 95% of the other people on the Internet
Too easy, so it must not be true. |

If I were an HBO thug and had a say in the written books Well of course there's a real world conspiracy option right there! What if HBO went into this with an offer George couldn't refuse – "Look pal, you haven't finished yet anyway; so how about we make you rich(er) and you write 'em up the way they best fit with our TV storyline?" That way they can do what the Hell they like to stop TV fans shooting themselves in the head and it still all turns out in the end! |

I think the RW will end up being pretty spot on to the book, even though the lead up to it is slightly off book. I'm betting RW will not be the last episode. I predict the big final episode will be Joffreys wedding and Tyrions escape. |

Shhhh! Shhhhh! No, we need Martels for that, and no one has been cast as a Martel for this season. No Dornish, no Red Viper. You need them for that. Season 4. Can't wait! |
Tumbleweed | 16 May 2013 7:15 p.m. PST |
Talisa and Robb Stark's intimate scene in last week's episode would seem to prep the viewer for the Red Wedding we're all wondering about. I'm really starting to dig the Kingslayer. "How many have you saved?" the healer asked. "A half-million," he replied, etc. Tough and strong women are cool, but Ygritte just irritates me. |

Talisa and Robb Stark's intimate scene in last week's episode would seem to prep the viewer for the Red Wedding we're all wondering about. Looks that way doesn't it. Damn shame, if it happens we are going to lose one of the best rear ends in the Series! |
