Evidently saying it is still a no no!

I'm stunned that they fired her. It was a simple slip of the lip, and it's not like she cursed. Somebody at that station/network/congolomerate is a little too Puritanical.

Seems a freudian slip to me, seeing as she was in their locker room.
Silly to fire her, viewers love that sort of thing.

Only in America !

jpattern204 May 2013 11:59 a.m. PST

it's not like she cursed
To clarify my own comment, I also don't think an accidental curse word should result in automatic firing.

But in America, cursing is worse than mentioning sex, except when someone decides it isn't. It's very confusing.

"Collins was fired Thursday, though CSN Chicago's parent company, Comcast, claimed that it was unrelated to her TV blooper."

Quick lets see how fast we can jump to conclusions without having any of the facts.

The only "fact" that any body has is the headline and of course we all know those are always written to convey the facts and not in a sensationalistic way to get attention for the article.

She was sacked for that? A slip of the tongue!

Here in Britain a respected news reporter was about to interview a government minister who held the post of Culture Secretary. The minister's name was Jeremy Hunt. A slip of the tongue resulted in the live broadcast of a VERY rude word!

The reporter didn't lose his job though….

Phil Hall04 May 2013 2:03 p.m. PST

No, she wasn't fired for the slip. She was fired for previous work she had done on an online slightly raunchy sports reporting show. The slip resulted in folks looking into her past and they found some things they didn't like

Oh, so this is why Don Cherry has been going rogue recently!

Because everyone (really, everyone evil grin ) was thinking the same thing…..luckily he's now in charge of health, which also starts with H.
