Good for her. I have many fond memories of her. She used to be one of the worlds great beauties, in my opinion. |

There will never be a sexier woman than Mrs Peel! Yeah and I've seen her naked! (Well me and a few hundred others) |

Diane Rigg appeared in a play at Newcastle's Theatre Royal pretty much at the top of her Mrs Peel fame. The play involved her being topless in one scene. Ticket sales were brisk. On the opening night Diane got her kit off to be met by a voice from the gallery who said, and I've cleaned this up: 'What a swizz! Wor lasses' are bigger than that!" Were you there Trajanus? |

No, I wasn't. The play was "Night and Day" by Tom Stoppard and Ms Rigg was considerably more than topless! The late John Thaw was the male lead. It would have been in 1977 or 78, some ten years after The Avengers. She also had a nude scene in the play "Abelard and Heloise" in 1970 which may be the one you are thinking of. |

Yes that's right Abelard and Heloise there were a suprising number of pitmen in the audience that night! |

Harrumph! I was on the wrong side of the pond to see either. |

Interesting, if a little ungallant, to point out that Ms Rigg would have been 40 when I saw her in "Night and Day". Plenty of women on stage, screen and TV who get their kit off at that age these days (not old when all is said and done) but I seem to recall a bit of tutting went on back then but I guess it was 35 years ago! |
