By the time you wake up tomorrow, Netflix is going to be lighter 2,000 movies in what some are calling STREAMAGEDDON!

I looked at my insta-queue, looks like I am losing about 1/4 of my movies… frown

Now I'll NEVER know what happens at the end of "Time Rider"… wink

Just like Pay TV the more successful something becomes the more people want a piece.

nothing in my queue is listed as going away.

Our streaming service ended yesterday which is the last nail for Elmo's Netflix.

First, they raised the price on DVDs, based on the number I was watching, I could just rent from iTunes and be even money.

Second, as Amazon Prime members, everything on Netflix was on Amazon AND we didn't have to pay any more.

Netflix, it had a good run but technology has moved past its business model.

We got rid of streaming years ago when they split the service and started charging more for it. Nothing we wanted to watch was being offered anyway. We still get more than our money's worth from dvd delivery.

Streaming is largely a joke. Since these are licenses you will see this stuff continually happen. Amazon almost certainly is going through the same thing. Same with Hulu and others.

Like any good drug dealer- they kill the opposition (Blockbusters) then restrict supplies, pushing the price up- so a subscription to Warner, a sub to MGM…

I kept discs only as the selection is massively better. I've seen everything and I have eclectic tastes. If streaming ever got comprehensive with a strong back list I'll sniff around again.

Even the "streaming exclusive" House of Cards is on dvd now.
