I bought a new laptop and it came with Win 8. After 2 months all I can say is it absolutely sucks and it is about as useful as a round dice….. I heartily endorse the comments on this old thread. TMP link |

I downloaded the classic shell which is great but can anyone tell me how do I get rid of the apps? cheers

you need to delete them one at a time. but there is no way (that I have found) to delete the interface for them. |

I built a new computer last week and all my tech buddies warned me away from Win 8, so I put Win 7 on. They said Win 8 was one of the versions to skip. |

yup skip win8 if you can, but your kind of stuck with it if you need to buy a new machine no one is giving you a choice. . |

Maybe it's no longer available, but I read that some machines came with a Windows 7 downgrade, or you could buy the downgrade with the machine. |

You think Win 8 is bad? Try 2012 Server, Win 8 for servers, looks and acts just like Win 8! Because, gosh, you so want a Tablet interface on your Server! |

In Version 8.1 they are bringing back the start button and the original desktop but not chosen as default. This is why abandoned windows 1 year ago and never looked back. |
