Creeped me out as a kid!

Wish I hadn't been outside doing yard work today……

Great movie. Thanks for then heads up, but I own a copy. Not that that'll stop me watching it on TCM.

One of my local tv stations ran this flick regularly on their weekday afternoon movie block back in the '70s.

She always "kindled" something in me, even as a kid! wink And speaking of kindling….

Anyone care for some freshly roasted Breen? evil grin

Saginaw it sounds like you used to watch channel 13 too.

I've always thought Andrew Keir was the best Quatermass. This movie had a great cast and good screenplay.

The ending credits were odd. They just stand there while London burns…

Critter, it was actually KTVT Channel 11, which was then an independent station, but now is a CBS affiliate. But yeah, KERA Channel 13 use to run this as well on their weekend night movie block, too.

A really good movie. Definitely not your average 'monster-in-the-crashed-spaceship' flick. Actually kind of thought-provoking.

I think the British film industry did a lot more with a lot less back then.

That has always been one of my favorite sci-fi movies. It has an intelligence that's missing in most sci-fi, and it also presumes some intelligence in its audience, which is even rarer.

It would be interesting to see it remade today with better effects, but then it wouldn't be the same movie.

Opulent amounts of four-letter words, sexual attraction between young stud Quatermass and voluptuous Miss Judd….shall I go on?

Instead, I'd like to see some 25/28mm miniatures based on this film. The Martians are extremely intriguing, and the scene where the old historian reads from an ancient manuscript describing the "odd" occurrences from centuries earlier gives me the idea of using those same Martians in a game with, let's say, the Roman troops in Britain, or Sub-Roman Britons.

On the top of my list of great British SciFi along with the original VIllage of the Damned.
