Daenerys Targaryen – Excellent ending to this weeks Game of Thrones – You just knew it was coming but still good fun!

It was great.

The 3rd season is living up to the hype to this point.

Unless HBO has decided to give her more to do, that is the last exciting thing we will hear from here for two years. grin
the books really drag out her arc in grim BORING detail.

Not much of a SPOILER, since they have dragged Theon's story forward. The books are rapidly losing their usefulness as a guide to the series.

I don't watch GoT, but I can say that is the only GoT story I've ever read start-to-finish, "Path of the Dragon" in The Sword and Sorcery Anthology: link (A good overview of classic S&S, by the way.)

The ending was a clever twist, but Martin telegraphed it so blatantly that I saw it coming from a mile away.

The story is about 70 pages long, as I recall, and Martin must drop at least 100 character names. Since I understand that's also true of the full-length books – no, thanks.

Well I did wonder if she was going to teach the Usullied Synchronised Swimming! I guess she is going get into boat building big time? No? Way too practical for George I suspect!

My son informs me that this is not "a bad thing"! He is nearly at the end of Book 5 and has pretty much lost the will to live!

Personally, I can't even face going back to the detailed synopsis I read on the Web so I'm happy to let things drift.

I get the feeling that the more the series pulls away the better its going to be!

There's still lots more for the other arcs, and a couple of interesting things with Daenerys, IIRC.

My wife is insisting on getting a kitty cat this September and now wants to call it Daenerys, whether it's a boy or girl.

Ditto: Recently adopted a border collie……named her Khaleesi. Our new puppy is Jorah. Kids call him 'dozer' for being a complete knucklehead. He does adore Khaleesi though.
