Might not mean much to everyone, but an inspiration to me. Her From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler was a childhood favorite of mine (what history-loving kid wouldn't want to run away and live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art?), and she kept writing and selling books (and receiving acclaim from readers and critics) until her death, at age 83.
Far too young, but, wow, what a career.

Thanks for the wonderful stories, Ms. Konigsburg. I'm sure your files in heaven are all in order— or mixed up just the way you like 'em!
