Only seen the movie just recently but I was interested in the bit about sponsors and how they could send in supplies.

I was wondering if the books go into it a bit more?

1. Is there an allowed list of items or prohibitive ones?
2. Did any of the other districts get anything in the book – It seem they only helped one district in the movie?
3. Did anyone ever just follow the floating chime and kill the intended recipient?

Thanks,
DZT

It's been a while since I read the books but I will give it a shot.

1) I don't think there were prohibited items. After all, they gave he kids weapons to start with. But keep in mind that the item sent had a cost associated with it that wasn't just the cost of the item. I assumed it was something like a very simple item (a bandage) might require the sponsors/donors to pay $10,000 USD while a gun might be $1,000,000. USD

2) Yes, I am pretty sure other people got stuff in the books. If not explicitly stated, then it was implied.

3) No, but I assume that was because the area they were in was pretty large and being lucky enough to see one of those things coming down was pretty small unless you were close.

The books were ok. They were quick reads so I felt like the value of their entertainment was equal to the effort required. I've read far worse.
