did you hear about Psy's latest song and video? Rant Mode ON Okay, I never watch Fox and I've weaned myself off of MSNBC, but every damn (allegedly) legitimate US news TV org reported this breathlessly yesterday. Really
REALLY? All this talk about war being imminent, a nuclear warhead could be attached to the missle, GUAM could be wiped off the map, but yet
let's take a break and watch Psy? (Whoever the bluddy 'Ell he is in the first place [and yeah, I know who the jerk is]). Al Jazeera English bought out Current several months ago
where is it? The BEEB is actively pushing for a 24 hour news channel
what's the delay? I know we switched to info-tainment years ago, but this is beyond Beyonce' arming the Syrian Rebels. Do we have to have to watch, seemingly the cream of the crop, reporters breathlessly informing us that they have pictures of two guys loading gasoline into the truck that may take food type substitute to the guys arming the missle? Do I need to be informed that I'm really out of it if I don't watch a stupid S. Korean artist and go, WOW! ? Will we ever get legitimate news on our televisions ever again? I think we should start hitting back, and start doing those poor save the animal/children type commercials with bleeding heart voices and sad music in order to bring to the attention of the US population that we're getting so dumb, so fast that we can't even sepll TSA test scores! My favorite news sources are written or spoken (radio)
TV is a distant third because it seems to favor spectacle and if theres no exciting visual element to a story it won't get covered. |

link Dennis was known in the NBA as "The Worm", as a very physical rebounder, having rainbow colored dyed hair, and for wearing a wedding gown on occasion. |

To have serious reporting you have to ask the hard questions. That is not particularly popular now. |

The biggest problem with network news is that they report the news and then tell you how you are supposed to feel. We no longer have to think. We just get our favorite brand of news and start towing. Instructions can be found online or on the TV. We've already named someone "Hanoi Jane" so can we call Dennis Rodman "Pyongyang Dennis?" |

Well at least Rodman didn't jump into the gunner's seat of a AAA gun and pretend to shot down US aircraft or rat out US PoWs for telling her the truth about how the treatment they were getting. Resulting in more torture for several of them. |

Psy is a big improvement over little Kim because he has called for the death of US servicemen far less often than Kim has. |

NOW!] I remember when CNN first started. They actually tried to get guests and people who would talk about vital and important issues of they day. Can't remember the lady's name who had Larry King's spot before he got it but I recall her show as more interesting and informative than anything old Larry could wheel out. Don't get me started on Piers. I think Simon Cowell could do a better job, or Jeremy Clarkson. I also recall how the 24 hour news cycle has broken down into more boring Bs during the day. Major global crisis or news event? Dr. McEvil has a new death ray and is threatening the world? The Blorgians have landed in front of the White house and Kremlin and are going to enslave us? The Earth is going to be demolished in two days to make way fro a hyperspace bypass? Let's not disucss any of that but we have live footage from Springfield, Missouri on Elm Street where old Widow Johnson's cat is stuck in a tree and let's watch the heroic action of the Firefighters, Coast Guard, Police and Boy scouts as they attempt to get little Fuzzball out of the tree safely
The biggest thing that bugs the crap out of me isn't the moronic domination of the News networks but of the NERD networks. FOR GOD'S SAKE STAY AWAY FROM OUR GEEK ZONE DAMMIT!!!!! Mess up the big three, MTV, Lifetime Etc. But keep your stinkin' paws off our Sci-Fi, Discover, History Channel and A&E. Mess up the normals fun and leave us alone Dammit! 1!] As for Psy? Eh, at least he's a South Korean taking air time away from a tin horn, two bit, tin plate little despot who so desperately craves attention. Hell, right now I'd love to see someone cut in on the launch of Lil' Kimmie's lil' rocket to do a 24 cycle on Justin Beiber's latest act of self important stupidity just to annoy the jerk. However, I could only take that once. |

You're right. And my 2 yo and 3 yo both love Gangnam Style, so he's okay with me. They dance their little tails off to him. |
