Once, when our unit was returning from South Korea, the toilets stopped working in the plane we were on. It was a 747 and it was full of GIs who had been in the field for awhile. We landed in Hawaii and hundreds of GIs in winter gear erupted from the plane, swarmed down the steps with parkas flying, running full out for the nearest latrine. Airforce people were going into convulsions of hilarity. So let's hope they've got this kind of problem solved. |

Not an airliner, but the Nimrod's toilet flushed straight outside and it wasn't unknown for Grimrod crews to 'save up' before flushing at an appropriate moment
The golfers (many of them being RAF fast-jet crews) at Moray Golf Club, just off the threshhold of RAF Lossiemouth, soon learned to open their brollies when Nimrods came in for a touch & go at Lossie
