i watched it yesterday at cinema. its not worth the money, althoug its ok to watch it at home.
the plot its too obvious ("something is wrong with reality") if only because the protagonist say it at the very beginning: "i feel something is wrong", with what i found a very lame off voice.
it has some interesting twists, but the plot look as if written with an emotional theme at mind, without caring too much about anything else.
the landscape dont make any sense, other than trying to shock the viewer and to look cool and get a post-apoc look. i find difficult to get that it happens just because what the aliens did to….. but clearly is not hard scifi, even in a very basic level (as a conversation without light speed lag shows).
you can say the same thing about the costumes and weapons of the scavengers ant the protagonist; their only purpose is to look cool and scifish, even if in a very lame way.
it remind me of planet of the apes, 2001, aeon flux the movie, and specially of independence's day.
everything in the film seems secondary to the emotional theme

Looked to me like a version of The Matrix…..

ghostdog13 Apr 2013 4:55 a.m. PST

not close to matrix; but the main twist in the plot lools lot like th plot of a great sci fi movie from the 90s. naming it it would be a great spoiler

I will add it to my Lovefilm list – Senior management has decreed we will watch it.

Tom Cruise is in it so I will not see it.

Huh.
I thought it looked good, but that they gave away the plot twist in the trailers.

You might think so. I wouldn't let that stop you, though. grin

I went to see it, thought it was great, really enjoyed it, and I'm no fan of Mr Cruise!

And I was somewhat right on the twist…
The SFX was good…

I really enjoyed it. As the OP noted, you realize early on that Things Are Not What They Seem To Be, but then, just as you think you've figured it out, you discover that things STILL aren't what they seem to be :)

It was a bit long and some of the action sequences didn't seem quite necessary, but I enjoyed it far more than I expected to.
